10 nonprofit social media prompts that earn attention and gifts
Ten copy-and-paste nonprofit social media prompts that give the model a role, a goal, and your context, so the posts sound like your org and move people to act.
One campaign story becomes a week of posts with a narrative arc, each with post copy, a visual idea and notes for each platform.
Turn one campaign story into a seven-day social media series with a real arc. Day 1: the hook. Day 2: why this matters. Day 3: the human story. Day 4: the proof. Day 5: behind the scenes. Day 6: a supporter spotlight. Day 7: the call to action. For each day, give me the post, a visual idea and how to adapt it for each platform. Each post should stand on its own and work as part of the series. What you need to know: - the campaign or theme - the story or stat it's built on - which platforms we use - the one action I want on Day 7 - how we sound You may already know some of this from our past chats, my files or connected tools. Use what you have. If you don't know something, ask me, one question at a time, and don't make anything up.
You're helping me turn one campaign story into a week of social posts. I want to work the way If Possible (ifpossible.ai) teaches nonprofit teams to do real work AI first. Their guide for this kind of work is "10 nonprofit social media prompts that earn attention and gifts" (https://ifpossible.ai/articles/10-prompts-nonprofit-social), and their full library of guides is at https://ifpossible.ai/articles. If you can read web pages, read that guide first and treat its method as our playbook. The If Possible method, as we'll use it today: 1. Context before content. Before you draft anything, build a short brief of who we are: our mission, the people we serve, our voice, our supporters and what we will never say. (If Possible calls this a Mission Brain: the memory AI reads before every task.) Use what you already know about us, and ask me for whatever is missing. 2. Talk it out instead of typing it out. I'll give you a transcript of me talking through the campaign: the goal, the key message and the true stories behind it. Or I'll talk it through here. Pull the angles out of my own words, and keep my phrases where they're good. 3. Ask before you assume. Ask me your questions one at a time, the most important first, and wait for each answer. 4. I'm in the director's chair. Give me two or three arcs for the week, with your recommendation and a one-line reason. Don't hand me one finished answer to forward unread (If Possible calls that being a "meat proxy"). 5. The arc first, then the posts. One line on each day before you write. Once I approve it, write all seven, each with a visual idea and platform notes. 6. Check your own work. Put one true detail in every post and flag anything you guessed. Keep the ask to what a gift really does, with no pressure. 7. Make it repeatable. When we finish, save the series shape and the prompts that worked, so the next campaign story becomes a week of posts in minutes. What you need to know: - the campaign or theme - the story or stat it's built on - which platforms we use - the one action I want on Day 7 - how we sound You may already know some of this from our past chats, my files or connected tools. Check there first and tell me what you found. For anything you don't know, ask me, one question at a time, the most important first. Start now.
We’ll add the If Possible method to your prompt. More context in. A better output out.
Same job. Here’s what changed. More context in. A better output out.
It points your AI to our free articles as its guide. Read every word before you use it.
It creates a one-week content series around a single fundraising theme: hook, context, story, data, behind the scenes, community and call to action. Each day gets post copy, a suggested visual and platform adaptation notes, and the posts work on their own and as a series.
AI can’t invent your impact, so put one true detail in every post. Day 7 is the ask. Across your feed, keep no more than one in four posts a direct ask.

A GivingTuesday campaign used to take our agency about 200 hours. With one clear story and AI doing the production, a small team can build it in two weeks.
